‘I Was Running Because I’m an Aggie’

A race to decide who leads an institution’s student government isn’t usually a national issue, but outlets like The New York Times and Fox News covered Texas A&M University’s election this winter. That’s because Jose Luis Zelaya, a graduate student, was running for student-body president. Mr. Zelaya happens to be an illegal immigrant from Honduras at what some consider one of the most conservative institutions in the country….
